REBECCA MIDDEN
Roof Plan
Jovian Hotel

Located as part of OMA's Congrexpo in Lille, France, we were assigned to design a business hotel. To support the design concept of Jupiter's "Great Red Storm" suites line up one after the other creating a spine for the hotel from which all other functions occur. Guests enter from the ground level coming up from the garage elevator or the buildings existing stairs, The sweeping lines of the glass structure pull the hotels guests directly to the lobby for check in. The "Eye of the Storm" creates an open light filled space, providing atmospheric zones for meetings, cocktails at the bar, as well as personal enjoyment.

The suite balconies alternate in direction from floor to floor creating a dynamic facade in its repetitive rhythm. All guests have access to the roof garden. This sanctuary provides space for busy people to regroup and refocus between meetings, and all "nighters", offering moments of piece and tranquility throughout the days demands.
